OK to forget about Santa, but not...

As this holiday season was approaching, I had lots of thoughts about how people might view both God and Santa Clause in similar ways. People place hope, wishes, expectations, prayers and have good feelings toward both huh? I intended to write about all that, but did not get that done. However I did want to share some thoughts now AFTER Christmas.

These thoughts are still about the parallel worlds and thinking regarding Jesus and Santa. It strikes me how much focus builds up about both as we head into that magical time of year, and the 25th.

We focus on Santa and all that we hope he brings us and we do somewhat the same with Jesus; along with thinking of His birth, the babe in the manager, 3 Wise men, and all that goes with the birth of our Savior.

An exciting time of the year for sure. I hope this just serves as a good reminder for all of us.

People forget about Santa, allowing his memories to fade into wherever until this time next year, right? We might tend to do the same for the baby Jesus, but we cannot and should not, so DO NOT.

Yes He is the Reason for the Season, but also for every season! Keep Him uppermost in your thoughts, prayers, thinking, wishes, hopes, expectations, etc every day of the year, all year.

Hopefully when we thanked Santa, that we REALLY thanked God!

We head toward 2011, the first year of a new decade. Remember that our constant prayers, hopes and expectations, wants and needs need to be placed in that baby in the manager, our Savior, every day, every season. A relationship with Him is necessary ALL year round.

I gotta go do some praying! God's best to you my friend and Merry Christmas

Doug
