Thankfulness

“We have graces from God and His mercies are new every morning” Lamentations 3:22-23

I am closer to understanding the value of getting up in the morning and thanking God; being thankful for the blessings I do have.

....and praising the Lord for another day.

[read something like that today, and it also suggested that you must be maybe 40 / 50 years of age to truly get it] ...I don't know about that.

Have a good one, ME

Leaders should help others with NOT WORRYing

Conversations recently with biz leaders whose organization(s) were in uncertain times, potential layoffs, mergers, etc - it reminded me of how critical LEADERSHIP is, once again.

NOT WORRYING is a tough concept for all of us, no matter who you are! Leaders have to (and must) deal with this personally as well as for those they lead! In these challenging times with so much hopelessness, bad economy, job loss, organization struggling, disasters here and there, betrayals, people being laid off – WHO or WHAT is next?

It is nearly a daily occurrence to hear from someone close in our lives who has been impacted. It is everywhere, and we’re not supposed to worry?!? Indeed, this is one of the tougher biblical principles we are supposed to follow… YIKES, no DOUBLE YIKES.

As leaders we are really needed by those we lead. As much as we may want to focus & dwell on our own worries, stresses, etc -- your folks need you & your leadership! A few points to share as I have been pondering this much lately:

Be ‘human’ and donot be afraid of letting them see it. When we let others IN, we build trust & strong relationships. Some believe this shows weakness as a leader – that is just wrong. The relationships in our lives makes these times much more palatable – especially when one of those relationships is YOU, their boss!

When we all get thru these times (and we will unless we do not?!?)…and things turn around - this trusting relationship you built WITH THEM will pay huge dividends.

Working relationships between co-workers can become very strained as individuals withdrawal, lack concentration, and/or lash out at others. Leaders should not avoid it or try to pretend it is not there. It is real and everyone feels it. Why not get it out for all to know and realize we are all dealing with it and we (the leader and the rest of the team) are there for each other. It needs to be be dealt with, exposed and curtailed before it gets out of hand. Although we can never be sure of our security (of our jobs) and those that we lead, we need to reassure our people as much as possible; & with the truth as we know it! Yes, they should know what YOU KNOW.

Leaders are often confided in and the suggestion is there to keep it at the upper levels. REAL LEADERS realize this is wrong and unfair. The ones below that you are entrusted with, are trusting you with their lives...

"…Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear… Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?... O ye of little faith?... Your Heavenly Father knows what you need. Seek first His kingdom & righteousness and all these things will be given to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow” MATTHEW 6:25-34

QUALITIES TO MAKE US BETTER

For Leaders (as well as people in general), I came across a 'very good source' which provided a great foundation for what we should all be about in successfully relating to/in this world:

*OTHER-focused
*UN-threatening, not capable of DECEIVING
*PRIDE/EGO (confident but not boastful)
*Not POWER focused, never uses position
*EXAMPLE ALWAYS
*HUMBLE, & that is not a weakness thing
*TRAVEL LIGHT/not into materialism
*TRANSPARENT to all
*Seeks YOUR understanding, does not force ideas on you
*LEAST, LAST, SERVANT-oriented
*Understands PEOPLE
*Never stops LEARNING
*Seeks out MENTORS to grow them

Just found it interesting and worth sharing as good reminders for maybe what OTHERS WANT IN US (YOU)!

Of course now the challenge is in HOW TO be these things, and HOW WILL you know if you are practicing?

Your humble pilgrim & servant chasing the dream of helping others :) How am I doing?

MAKE IT RIGHT WHEN & WHERE U CAN

I was just thinking on some stuff. You know it is the people around you (family, co-workers, friends, neighbors, church friends, your boss, etc) make your life and mine, either good or bad.

Nothing else even comes close to being the biggest contributing factor to the quality of our world and life.

It gets so hard when a people issue, a relationship problem is going on in my world. For me, God & that Faith is the only way to get Real Peace & Comfort with struggles when they arise. Making Him my #1 Relationship priority in my life is what fixed so much for me about this world and all us humans here!

However when we walk out any door on this earth, it is those people that can/will make the difference in your day, the current moment, future times, tomorrow, later today, etc.

It only makes sense then to surround ourselves with good folks where possible. With the rest that we maybe don't get to choose - make those relationships as right & good as possible.

Whatever you have to do. Allowing bad relations to exist day after day after day, has to be the best possible definition of INSANITY. We've all been there done that & it just makes LIFE so tough, stressful, tense, negative and on and on and on...

It’s not about a personality conflict, not about communication issues or any other symptom/excuse; it is about a poor relationship that needs fixing. At least 99% of the time it is anyway – now that’s just my opinion.

For me, in as many moments as I can remember to look skyward, I seek that Real Peace thru Him in a constant & continual conversation.

That soooooo works for me; but then down here again we go fixing, improving and making new relationships to make this ol’ earth better. Him then us, ..Him then us again...

That quality relationship with our Savior makes the earthly struggles just seem to not be so insane. I can make so much more sense of it all when I go there to Him.

Man, am I blessed. All good here - here's to GOOD MOMENTS wherever you go my friend,
